Analyst – University Development
Position
Summary
The Reporting Analyst is responsible for
enabling data-driven fundraising by producing mailing lists and analytical
reports on an ad hoc basis in a timely manner, as well as creating on-demand
reports to enable client self-service.
This is a client service-oriented position that generates reports in
support of Portland State’s fundraising and constituent relations efforts. This position is a member of the Advancement
Services team, and reports to the Systems Manager. The primary clients of Advancement Services
are University Development, constituent development officers, and Alumni
Relations.

Responsibilities
Include:

Produce segmented mailing lists,
Telefund data files and other lists in a timely manner as requested by
university staff.

Produce analytical reports, including campaign
reports, to support data-driven fundraising by Portland State staff.
·
Create on-demand reports to support
rapid analysis and decision-making by staff.
·
Conduct data loads to make bulk updates
to the constituent database.
·
Suggest report enhancements; data
audits; business practices; and coding and field use improvements to increase
reporting accuracy and efficiency.
·
Develop reporting processes and policies
that align with and support Portland State’s fundraising processes, including a
comprehensive reference and training manual that is specific to Portland State.
·
Train and advise
staff regarding report request and interpretation best practices.
·
Maintain strong relationships with the
Office of Admissions, Registration, and Records; Human Resources; and other
campus departments to coordinate efficient and timely data loads.
·
Safeguard the confidentiality of
constituent records, adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA) and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA)
Code of Ethics.
·
Other projects as assigned.
Required/Minimum
Qualifications/Skills
·
Two or more years of experience with
SQL.
·
Two or more years of experience working
with relational databases.
·
Excellent computer skills and knowledge
of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
·
Strong analytical abilities,
organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects.
·
Accurate and attentive to details.
·
Flexible and self-directed.
·
Good interpersonal skills and ability to
work in a team with diverse individuals.
·
Must be able to successfully complete a
background check.
Preferred Qualifications
·
Experience in a fundraising office
and/or higher education administration.
·
Experience with Agilon’s ONE database.
·
Bachelor’s degree.
·
Deep appreciation for the mission of
Portland State University.
Compensation
The starting annual
salary rate for this position will be between $40,000 and $50,000, dependent
upon qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package
including fully paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package;
and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or one dependant at any of the
Oregon University System universities.
