Oracle Developer - HR or Payroll – Job Description:

 

TEKsystems is working with a client in Vancouver, WA to identify an Oracle Developer. This individual would be responsible for the Oracle E-Business suite with an emphasis in HR and Payroll modules, system enhancements, integration with other systems, day-to-day troubleshooting and general support. This role is part of the Oracle Applications Services group with an opportunity to learn and grow.

The candidate for this position must be able to:

• Work closely with functional staff in development and support of Oracle E-Business suite – with an emphasis in HR and Payroll modules.
• Reporting development using Oracle Reports, Discoverer, and XML Publisher.
• Participate in upgrades and new implementations of E-Business suite modules.
• Develop interfaces of Oracle E-Business suite with other external and custom applications.
• Advise with primary database users to determine modifications, adjustments needed, and to resolve problems.
• Design, size and install tables within context of the database and the platform on which it operates.
• Research data failures; develop and perform recovery strategies.
• Develop and maintain structure documentation and patch logs; formulate and enforce standards for data management.
• Tune the database and applications.
• Provide training and mentoring to staff.
• Attend and participate in professional training annually to stay informed on the latest changes and enhancements to Oracle applications
• Perform their duties in accordance with the client Operating Principles; work and act as a team player in interactions with other employees; and provide a high level of customer service at all times.

The candidate for this position shall have:

• Two to three years experience with Oracle E-Business Suite as a technical developer.
• Experience with the HR and Payroll modules.
• Experience with other E-Business suite modules.
• Experience with shell scripts.
• Object oriented development experience using Java and J2EE.

Knowledge of:

• Principles of data processing and computer science
• Methods and procedures of computer software design, development and maintenance
• PL/SQL and Oracle Forms
• Familiar with building OA Framework Applications and OA Framework Personalizations
• Oracle Payroll Module fast formulas
• Knowledge of Oracle Time and Labor (OTL)
• Familiar with functional areas such as payables, procurement, projects, general ledger, receivables, cash management and how transactions flow through those systems.

Candidates must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
